The Panola Pipers from Carthage, Texas.
These kids from Carthage were performing in the Food & Fiber Bldg. which tries to offer a lot of live entertainment during the day.
Another building I like to visit is the Hall of State which this year has a Texas History Exhibit. Here is a gallery of photos I shot inside the Hall of State along with a shot of the entrance. If you haven’t ever checked out this building when you are at the fair you are missing a treat, both in the architecture and the exhibits. Also don’t forget the downstairs area when you visit. This year there is a nice film about Texas playing in the downstairs auditorium along with a display of historical Texas flags. It was interesting to see the changes that our flag has gone through. These are actual flags that are displayed and some of them even had what looked like bullet holes in them! Fascinating stuff for us history hounds.
