Goin’ to the Soap Conference and we’re gonna learn a lot.
Goin’ to the Soap Conference and we’re gonna see what’s new.
Gee it’s lots of fun and we’re gonna have a blast.
(To be sung to the tune of Goin’ to the Chapel)
Jerry and I are leaving Monday and heading up to Colorado for this year’s Handcrafted Soapmaker’s Conference. I have been to at least 4 conferences previously and I always learn lots, find out new things and have a great time!
The conference is being held at the Inverness Resort and Conference Center in Denver Colorado and it promises to just as fabulous as the last one. There are some great sounding classes being offered including Liquid Soapmaking by Anne-Marie Faiola of Brambleberry, the telling of Pangea Organics by Joshua Onysko and how to be more effective at branding by Alison Covarrubias. I am excited about the two special events being put on by two of our sponsors Wholesale Supplies Plus and Essential Wholesale. The property itself looks wonderful online. My only real problem is getting everything tied up here at home so Annie and Tracy can carry on for a week without me. Oh, and of course what to pack – it’s still chilly up there in Colorado. If you would like to see more about what’s happening at this year’s Soap Conference you can find it here. I am hoping to post some pictures and maybe a video of the conference while I am up there.
On the subject of Annie and Tracy covering things without me – I generally do all of the invoicing and shipping of orders. I worked with Tracy to handle things some without me but she only works on Monday and Tuesday so if you place an order while I am gone please be patient as it might not ship till I get back on May 4th. I am afraid not having double coverage for every activity is one of the downsides to dealing with a small business. (Hopefully our other good qualities outweigh this.) I will be taking my laptop so I can check and respond to emails while away as well check in on Facebook.
Last year I came back with all kinds of new information to make existing products better as well inspiration for new products to offer and new techniques to make us a more efficient and better company all around. I am looking forward to what I be able to bring back with me this year.
