Thereโs something magical about Spring in Texas, especially with the vibrant Spring blooms. The fruit trees are blooming, the birds are singing, and the whole world feels like itโs waking up after a long winterโs nap. I wanted to share a little slice of that magic with youโfrom our backyard to wherever you are.
Nearly 30 years ago, Jerry and I planted fruit trees and blackberry bushes on our land. Back then, I was doing quite a bit of home canningโmaking jams, fruit butters, pickles, and relishes. While my days have become more focused on running Susanโs Soaps & More, moments like this remind me of those simpler times and the joys of making things from scratch.
This week, I wandered outside to capture some of the blooms in our yard and felt inspired to return to a few of those homey traditions. At the very least, Iโll be making blackberry jam again this yearโthorns and all!
These beautiful Spring blooms remind me of the joy and renewal that comes with the season.
Hereโs a peek at whatโs blooming and inspiring me right now:
A Little Slice of Zen
Our peach tree is in full bloom, and with the birds chirping around me, it felt like nature was gently nudging me to justโฆ breathe. I captured a short video if youโd like to take a moment for yourself:

If youโre craving that same calming energy, try our Lavender Sage Soap or Relaxing Body Oilโcrafted with essential oils to bring the peace of the garden into your routine.
Pear Tree Spring Blooms
Weโve made pear butter, dried pear slices, and even frozen extras in years past. What we get depends on the weather and the bees, but every year it brings hope.

Product Pairing Idea:
Our Lime & Sage Soap captures a bit of that fresh, orchard-inspired feelingโbright, herbaceous, and oh-so-refreshing.
Blackberry Brambles

We planted these long before thornless bushes became popular. The scratches are worth it, thoughโhomemade blackberry jam is still one of my favorite treats.
A Great Soap for All of You Gardeners:
My Lemongrass Soap actually started life as “Gardener’s Helper” soap. It’s got that wonderful refreshing scent of lemongrass and then cornmeal to help with scrubbing those hands clean.
As the seasons change, I hope you find moments to reconnect with the things that bring you joyโwhether itโs digging in the dirt, whipping up a batch of jam, or simply treating yourself to a little handcrafted self-care.
Thanks for letting me share a bit of Spring with you.
With warmth and gratitude,
Susan
